Summer is here and mangoes are available in the markets in abundance.Mango is my favorite fruit too. So every trip to the grocery stores, i get mangoes.Usually i make mango milkshakes, Mango rasayana or aamras. But this time i wanted to try something different. I was having friends coming over for dinner. So thought why not try this. As i was googling for some recipe, I came across a simple recipe from Tarla dalal. I decided to give it a shot right away. The kulfis came out great. My son born here in the states liked it so much that he named it yellow mango popsicle:). For the original recipe , click here.
Ingredients:
- Milk 500 ml
- Condensed Milk 1/2 cup
- Sugar 1/4 cup
- Milk powder 1/4 cup
- Fresh mango pulp 1 cup (Try using mangoes with less fiber strands in them like alphonso or ataulfo mangoes)
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients except the mango pulp and bring the mixture to a boil stirring continuously. I used a non stick pan for the ease of use.
- Once it starts boiling, let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Once the milk thickens, turn off the heat and cool it completely.
- Add the mango pulp and mix well.
- Pour it into the kulfi moulds and freeze till it sets. Unmould and enjoy yummy mango kulfis.

- If you do not have kulfi moulds, you can small plastic disposable cups. Pour the mixture in to the plastic cups and cover the opening of the glass with aluminium foil . Insert a spoon or an ice candy stick through the foil.
- Some kulfi moulds do not come with the stick. In that case, when the mixture is half set, put in an ice candy stick or a spoon in the center and refreeze it.
