Seven cup burfi

Sorry for being away for some time..I was actually busy with the diwali preparations. So the next few posts will all be dedicated to the diwali sweets and snacks that i made this time.
Seven cup burfi is a very simple sweet though it is a bit time consuming but the end result is well worth it:)
So here goes the recipe..

INGREDIENTS:
  1. Besan - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 3 cups
  3. Milk - 1 cup
  4. Ghee(melted) - 1 cup
  5. Fresh grated coconut - 1 cup
So as you can see, there are 7 cups of ingredients involved, hence the name..:)

Method:
  1. Put all the ingredients in a heavy bottomed pan. Then cook on a medium flame mixing continuously.
  2. When the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan, pour the mixture in to a greased baking tray or thali.(it takes a while, be patient;))
  3. Pat the thali or tray so that the mixture spreads evenly. You can also use a flat spatula (greased) to smoothen the surface.
  4. Once its has cooled down a bit and cut it into pieces.
  5. Enjoy!!!
I am sending this recipe to the blog event "FESTIVAL POTLUCK" hosted by Krithi and Denny.
